After Effect Tennis ball Youtube P1

How to use the image after filming it on green screen.
  1. Open After Effects and find the footage that you want to work with. (You need to make sure that the work is in the 'timeline'.)
  2.  Click on the video in the timeline panel to work with it in the composition panel. This way, the rotoscoping you perform will only affect this one layer.
  3. You also need to make sure that the marker is positioned at the first frame of the clip. The magic wand is located on the top tool bar. It works very similarly to the quick selection tool in photoshop.
  4. Use the mouse and move the magic wand around the object that you want to select. You should notice a pink outline forming around the object that you are trying to select. This means that you image is being automatically grabbed.
  5. You need to make sure that you look over the frame very carefully to ensure that the entire subject is being grabbed, making sure that no pieces are being missed as this would make the footage look very ineffective.
  6. You then need to tell magic wand  what you don't want to cut out of the frame. To do this you hold down alt and paint across the background with the mouse.

Production meeting 2 P1

Today we had a team production meeting, me, Amy and Steven discussed what went wrong with the shots and editing. We come to a conclusion that we should change that was that we do the tennis ball effect like with the shots types that we used. When we re do the tennis ball effect we will do two over the shoulder shots, one from the ball throwers side and the other from the person who stops the ball, there side. We are going to do it this was as i think it would be easier to edit the tennis ball in and would have a greater effect.

When is come to After effect we did struggle a bit as we couldn't get the tennis ball the same color that it would of been and also we needed to blur it more than we did as in the shot that the tennis ball appears it a panning shot so the background is quite blurry and the ball stood out to the blur and looked un natural and you could nearly make out that it was animated. We will still still use the same equipment that such as the blue screen but we wil just change the shots that we used.

We have decided on who is doing each effect, Stephen is going to learn how to do the visual effect were in the opening scene Sam is floating so Stephen is going to learn how to make someone float. Amy is going to do the invisible person visual effect, she will have to learn how to do that, but that is probably the easiest effect to do because you will need use mostly colour correction. Then I am doing the tennis ball effect, i'll just have to change some of the shoots i used and hopefully it shouldn't be too hard to edit in after effects.

The only props that we need is a tennis ball, blue screen and green screen.

Team production meeting P1

Me, Amy and Steve attended out team meeting and we discussed who's script we was going to use and decide if we was just going to use one script or merge two script together. In the end we decided to use Amy script but with parts of Steven script added in to it.

180 degree rule P1

180 degree rule is the rule were if filming or using  a camera you stay on one side of an invisible line, if this rule is broken and you cross over the line, it could create confusing for the audience watching the video as it looks like the people in the shot has switch sides and does not look right.

If you look on the diagram and look at the bottom right picture of the over the shoulder shot of the blue person, the blue person is on the right and then if you look at the top right picture, because the camera has broken the rule and gone over the 180 degree line it looks like the two characters has switched sides and this will most of the time cause confusing with the audience. In some films they do break the rule but make it work well as it is hard to pull of.

Character Bio P1

Tom

Born 1st March 1996
Born and grown up in Cambridgeshire.
He i 5ft10" brown hair and green eyes, he isn't very built as he is quit short and weak and has a ectomorphic body build.

Like drum and bass music and like fantasy books.
Friends are James and Leo and James is a big built popular student, who exceeds in school and who live and home with him brother and married parents. Leo lives with his Dad and goes to his Mum's every weekend to see her and his little sister.

Tom was involved in a car accident 5 years ago he was not injured but his older brother was killed in it.

His parent have split up and he has lost touch with his Dad which is his male role model.

This characters story goal is to discover the blue crystal and is the first character to discover that they all have powers. He stays in the story because his discovers that he has powers and expands on that during the rest of the story. Tom is quite a low confident, quiet character who doesn't hve much friends or popularity except the friends he has is the story which is James and Leo.

James
Born 16th January 1996
He grew up in Oxfordshire and moved down the Cambridge 7 years ago.
James has blonde hair and blue eyes he is 6ft 1" and has a mesomorphic body build and is very athletic and plays alot of sport.

Parents are married and he lives at home with them and his younger brother.
James is an athletic person who watches alot of sport and listens to drum and bass music.
James has a lot of friends because he is popular but his best friends that he is always with are Tom and Leo.

James story goal is to be the leader of there group and to take responsibilty for his friends and the other characters.
He stays in the story because he then develops powers and has to help Leo to contain Tom as he turns out to use his powers for evil. He tries to get his friends in with the popular crowd but they keep getting rejected as they are not accepted in the world that he is from. He is the one who keeps the group together.

Leo
Born 30 August 1996
He grew up in Cambridgeshire
He has brown hair and brown eyes 6ft has a mesamorphic athletic build he also plays alot of sports and has alot of friends aswell

The character I sort of like James's right hang man as James is the one that keeps the group together. Leo is the one that helps James to reach his goal.

He comes from a poor background compared to James and lives at home with him Mum but still has a close relationship with him Dad.

Leo is into sport and reads a lot of sports and is an active person but doesn't have a lot of other friends outside of his sports.

Bobby speaks 1:12-1:15
Rogue speaks "Rogue" 1:16
Bobby speaks 1:28-1:29
Professor X voice over 1:17-1:28

At the beginning of the clip the music fades in which helps to create tension and a bit of a build up to what is about to happen. Wolverine says "What is this place" then is cuts to kids playing basket ball and the sounds of kids playing and bouncing a basketball, when you hear the sound of children playing it sounds like an ordinary school, but then there is a bit of dialogue  which is a young kid saying "hey you're not aloud to use your powers" that is good as when they say it, it sounds as if they are saying it casually as if the powers is not a big deal. the clip then cuts to a boy using his powers to run across water and the voice over says at the same time "this is a school for gifted youngsters" this is good as it shows that you are meant to be fully aware of there powers and look it as a common thing. Cyclopes and Gene come onto the screen as the voice over says "Cyclopes, storm and Gene were the first of my gifted students" with the sound of Gene using her telekinesis to move the clay pigeons so that Cyclopes can shoot it with his laser beam. you can hear the beams in the clips, which is theory could be a different range of sounds as no one actually knows what they sound like. It then cuts to a class of students with ability and with professor x's voice over it seems like calm environment as the music changes as well to more of a slow chilled sound. You hear the sound of the lighter and the flame as the boy uses his powers which makes it seem more real. As it come to the end of the clip the music quites down to it finally stopping when Bobby says "Welcome to mutant high" this give off a good affect as the audience is paying full attention and takes in what Bobby says.

Sound Effects - Drive P1

Sound Effect Analysis – Drive

1)   The purpose of diegetic sound is to help set and creative the scene with tension and also to establish the main point in the scene, for example in the sequence you can hear the police radio talks about the heist that is happening and how close they are to your location, which makes you feel anxious, just incase they get caught. The extra little sounds helps to create the atmosphere like the door sensor beeping helps toward the tension, but the sound of running commentary coming from the basketball games give a sense of relaxation which you can tell that the driver is quite relaxed.  The purpose is to entertain and emphasis the genre which is crime thriller.

2)   The main character is sitting in his car as he is the getaway driver for two criminals who are about to do an armed robbery. The main character (Ryan Gosling) who pulls up at the scene were the two robbers are waiting for him so they can commit the robbery and jump in his car, you then see them run over to the gate, cut the chains and then shoot the lock of the back door. The shot gun sounds lets the audience see how serious they are about with what they are doing and it has quite a big impact as when the shot gun shoes off there isn’t much back ground sounds like common traffic sounds or any other sounds that are out the car, this is why the bang of the shotgun is so loud because it goes from just having diegetic internal sounds to an external bang. The loud bang makes you feel anxious for them hoping they will make is out in time. But they’ll have to be quick because Ryan has a rule which is a 5 minute window were if they are not back with-in 5 minutes then he will drive off and leave them.

After you hear the gunshots, Ryan turns the police radio up, this is good piece of diegetic sounds that help create tension because you hear the police say what kind of car Ryan is in and also the location of the car. During the point were you can hear the police radio and the criminals are still in the shop you can hear a various different amount of sounds which give you mixed feeling in the scene as you can hear the basketball commentary, the shop alarm and the clock ticking which is very valuable in the scene as it the main diegetic tension builder because it is louder then it usually be , and also the non-diegetic sound in the background which is fast constant beats then suddenly you hear the back door of the shop swing open and the criminal comes running out and jumps in the back and you can hear him breath heavily as if he is scared or nervous which makes you feel a bit on the edge of your seat.

Top Trump P1

Point Break P1

For this task we had to add appropriate sounds to the film clip extracted from point break. The clip had no sounds at all so we had to find and add different sounds from foot steps to explosions chains rattling. I think the sounds was edited into the sequence well as most of it didn't sounds out of tune or out of place, but the part I think worked best is the when he smashed through the window and the women screams, this part is what I'm most pleased with as it sounds realistic to what the real thing might of sounded like but that part I didn't really think was well was the beginning of the chase were there was lack of sound which made it look a bit odd compared to what it should of been like. So I think the begging of the clip could be improved and to do this I would have to add more appropriate sounds and defiantly ad footsteps to it.

Misfits P1

1) What is the purpose of the dialogue used?

The Purpose of the dialogue is to help the audience get an idea and understanding of each of the character's. As it's the first opening scene the audience don't know how to look at each character because they don't know what they are like for example, their origin,  the crime that they have committed and even there social class.

Nathan:

Type- Class clown/Joker.
Tone- Sarcastic, mocking, acerbic, sharp, faux, politeness, confident.
Volume: Clear, loud, speak first in the sequence so quite dominant.
Accent: Irish, high pitched, lyrical.
Manipulative, argumentative, confrontational, insensitive, free-willing, child like.

In this sequence, Nathan come across as like the 'class clown' as he is constantly making jokes up  about and to people but not in an aggressive or nasty way. When he speaks he almost sounds a bit childish and immature but its suits him and his characters which makes the audience like him and enjoy him on screen as he makes you laugh and if anything bring most of the entertainment to any scene that he is in. It also makes it hard to decide or tell what social background Nathan is because of the way he speaks and the vocabulary he uses because he speaks very clear and very loud but he does not swear or says anything that could of been any offence.

Simon:

Type: Shy, mysterious
Tone: No confidence,  innocence
Volume:  Doesn't talk in the sequence

In this sequence you can't really tell the personality of Simon or his social status as he doesn't talk and the most of the sequence is always referring back to Nathan so you don't even see much of Simon.

Kurtis:

Type: Uptight, stubborn
Tone: Sarcastic, confident, clear
Volume: loud, slang.

In this sequence, Kurtis come across as if he already has abit of a high status or is expected to be respected due to the way he spoke to other people and the comments he makes such as "I shouldn't be here". The way that he is standing as well shows you that he feels relaxed and not threatened by any one there. He is also the only person that Nathan doesn't insult or make a comment to so he must have a confident personality but but they was he speaks which is wit slang suggest that his social background is working class.

Kelly:

Type: Gobby, argumentative
Tone: Loud, unclear, bad vocabulary
Volume: Middle eastern accent.
In this scene Kelly come across as the gobby one who likes to argue and disagree with people
when she feels threatened like when Kurtis make a comment she is the first to jump to it and defend herself. Kelly is a 'chavy' character who looks a bit tacky but there is a lot more to her that what you first see but you can instantly see her social class and you can imagine what her background would be, she is working class and looks like a typical loud mouth youth.

Alisha:

Type: Flirty, girly girl, lack of respect
Tone: Ignorant,
Volume: Argumentative/back chat

In this sequence Alisha come across as the girl that attracts alot of male attention as she is very flirty and you can tell she love the attention and is ignorant because of it. She is also a bit careless and has lack of respect for authority as she answers the phone while her probation worker is talking to her, which shows that she dont really care about what she does. she is abit hard to figure out as you can really tell what social background she has but more than likely she is working class.

Gary:

Type: Chavy, aggressive,
Tone: slang, swears
Volume: loud,
In this sequence you can instantly tell the personality of Gary by the way he dresses, body language and the way he speaks. Gary is a passively aggressive person and thinks he is boss as he starts on Nathan because he feels threatened by what he says, but this could then suggest that he is a insecure about himself. You can tell that he doesn't have much of a status in the gang as he turns to aggression to help him out, so from what you see you can tell the Gary is a stereotypical chavy, wearing caps, talking in slang and swearing but all of this just
helps you decide about his social class and his background which he is probably very low working class and he is someone that you can imagine that is on benefits and does drugs etc.
